Saint Lucia
A 3-day trip to Saint Lucia
Volcanic peaks, cacao groves, and calm Caribbean coves built for adventure and romance.
Saint Lucia trades flat, generic Caribbean sandscapes for dramatic topography: jagged volcanic spires, dense rainforest reserves, and coastal bays hemmed in by steep jungle. The island splits cleanly into two personalities. The northern corridor around Rodney Bay and Gros Islet brings resort beaches, marina dining, and lively street soundscapes, while the southwestern quarter around Soufrière frames the towering Pitons, working cacao estates, and geothermal springs. It is an island engineered for active days and deliberate slow evenings rather than fast-paced urban roaming.

What your 3-day plan includes
- A day-by-day itinerary with neighborhoods clustered so you spend less time in transit.
- Real budget awareness — a target, an estimate, and a status you can dial up or down.
- Recommendations shaped by your pace, food priorities, group, and must-dos.
- Swap anything, improve any day, refine in any direction without starting over.
How to plan 3 days in Saint Lucia
- Book a split-stay: 4 nights near Soufrière for hiking, waterfalls, and diving, followed by 3 nights in Rodney Bay for beaches and dining.
- Avoid doing a day-trip drive from Rodney Bay to the Pitons by car; the winding two-hour drive each way causes car sickness. Take a coastal catamaran or water taxi instead.
- Hire a licensed local guide at the base of Gros Piton or Petit Piton; summiting requires technical scrambling and trail permits.
- Reserve open-air dining spots like Dasheene or Boucan at Hotel Chocolat at least two to four weeks in advance for sunset dinner seatings.
- If landing at UVF with a resort stay in the far north, book a scenic helicopter shuttle or boat transfer to bypass the 90-minute serpentine overland haul.
