Zimbabwe & Zambia
A 3-day trip to Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is the smoke that thunders — the world's widest sheet of falling water, on the border of two countries.
Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya, 'the smoke that thunders') is the world's widest sheet of falling water — a 1.7km curtain of the Zambezi dropping into a basalt gorge on the Zimbabwe–Zambia border.
See it from both sides: Zimbabwe has the wider, classic views; Zambia gets you closer (and wetter) on the Knife-Edge Bridge. Add a sunset on the Zambezi, a microlight or helicopter flight, and a swim in the Devil's Pool at the edge (in the dry season).
It's the southern Africa gateway — combine with a Botswana safari (Chobe, the Okavango) and it's one of the great trips. The high-water (peak) season is February–July; the falls are at their biggest and you will get soaked.

What your 3-day plan includes
- A day-by-day itinerary with neighborhoods clustered so you spend less time in transit.
- Real budget awareness — a target, an estimate, and a status you can dial up or down.
- Recommendations shaped by your pace, food priorities, group, and must-dos.
- Swap anything, improve any day, refine in any direction without starting over.
How to plan 3 days in Victoria Falls
- See both sides — Zimbabwe for the wide views, Zambia for getting close and wet.
- Carry a rain poncho and dry bag for your phone in high-water season.
- Book a sunset Zambezi cruise — the gin, the hippos, and the light are the highlight.
- Add a microlight or helicopter flight to see the full falls from above.
- Combine with Chobe (Botswana) for one of Africa's best short safaris.
