  • Do not attempt a day trip from Kuala Lumpur; spending 8 hours round-trip in a minivan leaves you only two rushed midday hours on sweltering trails.
  • Combine the classic wooden longboat trip from Kuala Tembeling jetty to Kuala Tahan on your way in for a scenic 2.5-hour river approach, then take the faster overland bus out via Jerantut.
