- Stay in Skiathos Town or Megali Ammos if you want walkable dining variety every night without relying on late-night taxis.
- Rent a 30hp self-drive motorboat from Troulos or the Old Port for one full calm morning to reach Tsougria islet and Lalaria before the tour vessels dock.
- Don't try to cram northern off-road beaches and southern sandy bays into the same afternoon; winding ridgeline roads make cross-island hops slower than they appear on maps.
- Pair Skiathos with neighboring Skopelos or Alonissos using the regular 30-to-45-minute Sporades hydrofoils instead of spending the whole holiday on a single island.
