How to plan 4 days in Jericoacoara, Ceará, Brazil

  • Base yourself along Rua das Dunas if you want quiet sleep; stay off Rua Principal or Rua do Forró if late-night acoustic music and foot traffic bother you.
  • Split your buggy excursions into two separate days: reserve the Litoral Leste (East Coast) for Lagoa do Paraíso and Buraco Azul, and Litoral Oeste (West Coast) for the Tatajuba dune slides.
  • Time your hike to Pedra Furada strictly with the low tide timetable; high tide blocks the scenic shoreline passage, forcing an uphill detour over the Morro do Serrote hill in direct midday sun.
  • Reserve upscale beach club cabanas at Lagoa do Paraíso (such as Alchymist) at least 3-5 days in advance if visiting between October and January.
