A 7-day trip to Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a walled city on the sea — marble streets, terracotta roofs, and the Adriatic sparkling below.
Dubrovnik is the 'Pearl of the Adriatic' — a fully walled medieval city clinging to the sea, with marble streets and terracotta rooftops glowing in the sun.
It's small enough to walk in a day, but the wall walk, the cable car up Srd hill, and island day trips (Lokrum, the Elaphiti islands) easily fill three. The Old Town is the whole point; stay inside it if you can afford it, or just outside the walls for value.
It's crowded in summer — arrive early or stay late, and the crowds thin. May, June, and September are the sweet spots.

What your 7-day plan includes
- A day-by-day itinerary with neighborhoods clustered so you spend less time in transit.
- Real budget awareness — a target, an estimate, and a status you can dial up or down.
- Recommendations shaped by your pace, food priorities, group, and must-dos.
- Swap anything, improve any day, refine in any direction without starting over.
How to plan 7 days in Dubrovnik
- Walk the city walls early morning or near sunset to beat the heat and crowds.
- Get a Dubrovnik Pass for the walls and museums — it pays off quickly.
- Take the cable car up Srd for the view, then dinner back down.
- Do a half-day island trip to Lokrum or the Elaphiti islands.
- Book a room inside the walls once — but book outside for value.
