How to plan 10 days in Ninh Binh
- Base yourself in Tam Coc if you want walkable dining and coffee spots at night, but book in the Trang An valley if your priority is waking up directly inside the silence of the karst cliffs.
- Tackle the 500-step climb up Hang Mua Peak at 06:30 at opening; by 08:30 the narrow stone staircase is clogged with tour groups and midday heat ruins the viewpoint.
- Skip the Tam Coc boat docks between 10:00 and 15:00 when day-trippers arrive en masse from Hanoi; arrange your rowboat excursion either at 07:30 or after 16:00.
- Combine Hoa Lu Ancient Capital with a bike loop through the Trang An backroads on the same day, since the temple grounds take less than 90 minutes to explore thoroughly.
