Vietnam
A 7-day trip to Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City is motorbikes and pho and French colonial streets — chaotic, cheap, and alive.
Saigon is a city of motorbike rivers and incredible street food at prices that don't seem real. Cross the street slowly and confidently; the bikes flow around you.
Trip length
7 days
Best time to go
December through February for minimal rainfall and relatively bearable humidity.
What your 7-day plan includes
- A day-by-day itinerary with neighborhoods clustered so you spend less time in transit.
- Real budget awareness — a target, an estimate, and a status you can dial up or down.
- Recommendations shaped by your pace, food priorities, group, and must-dos.
- Swap anything, improve any day, refine in any direction without starting over.

How to plan 7 days in Ho Chi Minh City
- Base yourself in District 3 near Vo Van Tan if you want easy access to D1 sights without being woken up by Bui Vien club sound systems.
- Pair your city stay with an overnight in the Mekong Delta or a quick flight to Da Nang; 3 full days is plenty of urban stimulation.
- Do not attempt the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta on the same day—the hours spent idling in Highway 1 bottleneck traffic will ruin both.
- Book high-demand modern dining like Anan Saigon at least two to three weeks ahead if traveling during December or January peak dates.
